Okay so if you’ve read my September Notes, you will already know that I was diagnosed with a Tibial Stress Fracture about a month ago. I have been following the doctors orders and have been resting for 4 weeks and I have now got the go ahead to do some recovery exercises including swimming, cycling and basically anything that doesn’t require impact to the leg!
Since I started the gym I’ve kind of caught the bug and I’ve been raring to get back into some form of exercise ever since i was injured. I miss my regular classes so much, and I am beyond excited to get back into some form of workout!
Despite being a really good swimmer, I actually haven’t been in a really long time, so long in fact that I don’t even own a costume or bikini! So I went on the hunt for something to swim in, and considering it is now October, you can imagine how difficult it is to find a swimsuit or bikini. I hunted the shops and couldn’t find a thing, so I hopped online and came across boohoo’s holiday sale! WINNER! I picked up a simple white swimsuit for £8 reduced from £20, I was advised to buy one size up from what I am, because boohoo is known to be a little smaller and I don’t want a wedgie… not pleasant!
Ive convinced Reece to come with me so Im not alone, and he also trying to get back into his fitness too after having a pretty long break over the summer, he’s a YouTuber so he spends a lot of time at his desk and he wants to get some more fitness in so i convinced him to come along, he’s not a big fan of swimming but I’m hopefully he keeps it up, I’ve also been given the go ahead to go back to my spinning classes, so I’m excited for that! Reece also wants to come along to those too because he has quite bad shin splints and can’t run, so spinning is a good option for him. It’s great because it gives us something to do together also!
I can start going back to normal classes from 26th October, so I can begin my much loved Zumba classes again, strict rules I’ve been given though is to simply take it slow at first, I can’t go back to my old ways of doing one or three classes every single day, I must remember to rest when I need to and to take it easy!
My main focus is to ensure I’m eating really well, I know I can’t jump back into my fitness full bore like I was before, so I need to make sure I’m keeping on top of it completely by eating super duper clean and giving my body the nutrition it really needs!
I plan to post another update blog, once I’ve gotten back into the swing of things, to let you know how it’s going, as I know some of you have told me that you’ve suffered stress fractures too, so I’m sure it will be interesting for some of you to see my progress and to know how things are going!
